2D Animator (Philippines)
We are looking for a motivated and passionate 2D animation expert to join our team! As an experienced animator, you will have a portfolio of proven quality with a determination to push boundaries and create kick-ass animations. You enjoy working as part of a team, but have a proactive approach with a hunger to take responsibility on an individual level.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Art Director and 2D artists to finalize animations for each project. Provide animation work for review at appropriate stages and apply feedback accordingly, with quick turnaround.
- Plan and design the character action, digitally rough animate in a 2D traditional way and animate characters using digital mediums, providing pencil tests as necessary
- Process and export the PSDs from illustrators and import the PNG assets as images useable in Spine
- Rig the exported art assets from Photoshop, employing various rigging techniques that enable for robust animations set by the project standards
- See through the implementation of said animations with the Tech Art team, make sure that they are technically-sound engine-useable, and make revisions when needed
- Project, manage, and maintain well-organized working files to facilitate file sharing and collaborative work
- Manage workload and milestone requirements by following and/or determining task priorities, time estimates, and scope while proactively raising issues to the team as needed
Requirements:
- 2+ years practical animation experience working in interactive media/video game setting (or a strong portfolio equivalent)
- Advanced and applied understanding of animation principles and techniques (timing, staging, anticipation, squash and stretch, etc.), with strong grasp of these principles in video game context
- Strong animation skill and Spine 2D knowledge is necessary
- Core Photoshop knowledge such as sketching, exporting PNGs, proper use of its animation timeline, compositing, and software features saved out for animation
- Strong problem-solving methodology
- High work ethics and open-minded attitude with excellent communication skills in English, including the ability to give, receive, and solicit constructive written, verbal, and other feedback
Pluses
- Experienced animator who has an overlapping knowledge of Photoshop and Unity
- A good understanding of the pipeline for game development
- Loves video games and making them!
- A shipped title that includes your work would be really awesome
- A knowledge of editing images in Photoshop for use in Spine is a huge plus, but not required
