Job description

As Lead Engineer (C++) at Tic Toc Games, we are looking for you to help drive and lead your projects and help advance technology in the studio. UI/UX Designer

Job description

Tic Toc Games is seeking a UI/UX Designer to help guide our game’s user experience through creating user journeys, wireframes, flow maps, mockups, and final assets.  The candidate will also build visual assets & maintain the game’s visual identity.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the user experience of the game with intention: How should players flow through the experience? What information is key for players to understand and where does it fall in the hierarchy?
  • Use industry standard design tools (Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator) to create low and high fidelity mockups.
  • Collaborate with lead designers, art directors, product managers, and other UI/UX designers to create a consistent visual language with high quality aesthetic appeal.
  • Iterate as needed to address feedback coming from team members & stakeholders.
  • Solve complex design problems with clear and concise solutions.

2D Spine Animator

Job description

Tic Toc Games is seeking a 2D Spine Animator with a love for character acting, animation fundamentals (12 principles), and a desire to work on high quality free-to-play games.

You would be creating high quality, production level 2D character animation.

US-based applicants only.

  • Work with the Animation Director to create visually appealing, high quality animation.
  • Create high quality, animation-ready characters and props in Spine.
    Animate the characters and props, relying more on your instincts as a keyframe animator than on automation.

Art Director

Job description

Tic Toc Games is looking for an Art Director! As the Art Director, you are working with the Game Directors as their key partner in establishing the visual style for our games. The role requires you to work with our internal and external resources as a leader, manager and artist.

As a leader you will be a motivational catalyst for the artists you work with. As a manager you will make sure you are finding the right resources for the work keeping the schedule, vision and cost in mind. As an artist, you will help define the full visual art target for our titles while providing feedback and redlines to the art team.

You Are:

  • A Leader: You lead by example as well as mentor and coach other team members to ensure growth within the company.
  • An Excellent Communicator: You are the champion who sets the visual bar for the project by staying in constant contact with the Game Director, bringing their vision to life using clear communication to manage artists, both local and outsourced, and redline work like a ninja.

Tech Artist (Unity/iOS/Android)

Responsibilities

  • Build animated UIs in Unity from concepts and wireframes
  • Create Visual FX in Unity that range from highly stylized 2D to hyper realistic 3D, following Art Director’s concept
  • Use Photoshop and 3D tools (Max or Maya) to build and animate objects for use in both 2D and 3D games
  • Integrate art into Unity, using Unity Tools (e.g. animation editor), plugins (e.g. NGUI, Play Maker, Smooth Moves), shaders, and script components to implement the artistic vision of the game
  • Take direction from the Art Director and Lead Artist and make changes as needed

3D Character Generalist

Job description

Tic Toc Games is seeking a 3D Character Generalist with experience in modeling, texturing, and rigging highly stylized, angular and cartoony 3D Models. They must have a love for character design, storytelling, and be a creative problem solver. This position is freelance to start, with potential for longer term employment.

  • Work off of provided 2D turnaround spec sheets to model, UV map, texture, and rig 3D characters (3,000-4,000 polys) to create high-quality, animation-ready 3D characters.
  • Work with the Art Director to iterate on 3D designs, using critical thinking and creative problem solving to adapt stylized 2D designs to 3D space while preserving original design’s intention.
  • Use existing documentation to create bipedal character rigs with IK/FK switching.
  • Create UV maps and textures based on provided designs.
  • Create UV maps that are easy to understand and usable for 2D artists.
  • Thoroughly test character rigs and skin weighting to identify clipping/bending issues and ensure models are animation-ready.
  • Creatively address issues in rig when clipping/bending issues arise.
  • Use existing documentation to create facial rigs and test them on models, finding creative ways to push expression and emotion.
  • Work with the Art Director, Animators, and programmers to revise and iterate on rigs and adjust them as necessary to fit the game’s needs.

You would be creating high quality, production level 3D character animation.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Art Director to create visually appealing, high quality animation.
  • Create dynamic, energetic action animations based on provided reference and carefully follow instructions for linking/transitioning between different animation states.
  • Communicate with Producer and Art Director to ensure art quality deadlines are met.
  • Follow direction and feedback in order to revise animations, if necessary.
  • Work in an organized manner, keeping close track of formatting and naming conventions.
  • Deliver video playblasts in addition to working files (ie .mb, .3ds).

Lead 3D Technical Artist

Tic Toc Games is seeking a Lead 3D Technical Artist with expert knowledge of texturing, rigging, optimization, lighting, shader creation, post-processing and Unity. They must have a love for character, storytelling, and be a creative problem solver. They must be organized, detail-oriented, and work well in a collaborative, team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Art Director and Programming team to create a comprehensive pipeline for creating, importing, and exporting 3D assets of all kinds (character models, environment models, animations, VFX).
  • Create comprehensive rigs for bipedal characters, including external elements such as capes, robes, hats, and props.
  • Light 3D scenes in both visually interesting, and technically efficient ways.
  • Create unique and interesting shaders in Unity.
  • Work with the Art Director to manage the 3D Art team of modelers, riggers, animators, and tech artists to ensure consistency and quality expectations are met.
  • Communicate with the Producer and the Art Director to ensure art quality deadlines are met.
  • Create thorough documentation to ensure assets are consistently created and exported to proper scale and specs.
