VFX Artist (Philippines)

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Visual Effects artist. As an awesome VFX artist, you should be highly creative with a strong working knowledge of standard industry software tools, ultimately producing great-looking VFX that would elicit our players the best delightful experience from our games.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize, design and create cutting-edge special effects for video games, including working with Unity’s Particle Effects and Shaders
  • Take directions and feedbacks from Art Director while bringing the VFX to the best visual it can become
  • Work with Programmers and Tech Artists to establish an efficient pipeline– true to mockups, and see through the implementation that is technically performant
  • Collaborate with artists to develop the design for the effects and animations
  • Provide visual mockups (storyboards/ video) to communicate ideas to teams
  • Project, manage, and  maintain well-organized working files to facilitate file sharing and collaborative work.
  • Manage workload and milestone requirements by following and/or determining task priorities, time estimates, and scope while proactively raising issues to the team as needed.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years practical VFX experience working in video games or similar entertainment media (or a strong portfolio equivalent)
  • Advance and applied understanding of animation principles and techniques with strong grasp of these principles in video game context.
  • Experienced VFX artist who has an overlapping knowledge of Photoshop for image creation and editing
  • Possess great command of After Effects to create own textures and possess a practical know-how working with spritesheets, and able to work these in Unity
  • Highly creative that can come up with visually stunning visual effects; impeccable attention to detail 
  • Good head knowledge of Unity and its Particle System editor
  • Strong problem-solving methodology
  • Able to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with all development disciplines: Programming, Art, Design, and Production.
  • High work ethics and open-minded attitude with excellent communication skills in English, including the ability to give, receive, and solicit constructive written, verbal, and other feedback.

Pluses

  • Demonstrating a deep knowledge of traditional frame-by-frame animation is a huge plus
  • Good command of Unity’s Shader Graph and/or VFX Graph feature
  • Additional working knowledge in other 3D VFX softwares (Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, C4D) is a plus, but not required
  • A good working knowledge on After Effects-to-Unity workflow
  • Loves video games and making them!
